Description

I came to Shadowglen to observe the webwood spiders that dwell in the Shadowthread Cave. They are cousin to a much smaller variety of spider; I believe the world tree has had a profound effect on them, and I would like specimens to study to confirm this.

First, I would like some of their venom. Gather Webwood venom sacs from the spiders in and around the Shadowthread Cave, to the north. I can then examine them for similarities with their smaller cousin's venom.

Thank you, <name>.  When I return to Darnassus I will compare the venom within these sacs with the venom of other spiders.  It is my belief that it will have properties linked to the recent growth of our new world tree.

Notes

•  [Webwood Venom Sac]s can be looted from any of the spiders outside (or inside) of Shadowthread Cave on the northern end of Shadowglen.
• This quest is easiest to do while working through the  [4] A Good Friend questline. For the first two quests, you'll be in the area fighting a path through the spiders anyway; and the third quest,  [4] Iverron's Antidote, also requires an item that drops from them.

Patch changes

• Patch 4.0.3a (2010-11-23): Removed.
  
• Patch 1.8.0 (2005-10-10): The  [Thistlewood Axe] will no longer be an available option as a quest reward for the Webwood Venom quest.
  
• Patch 1.7.0 (2005-09-13): The level 5 quests had the ranged weapon removed from their reward options. This was done to make sure hunters upgrade their melee damage in the levels before obtaining a pet.

  In this quest's case, the  [Thistlewood Bow] was removed.
