Wild Three-assed Mantaurs were creatures that roamed Uldum during the Cataclysm alpha and early builds of the beta. They consisted of three naked male human models stitched together to form a bizarre chimera: one serving as the Mantaur's head, torso, and front legs, a second lying on his stomach serving as the back, and a third smaller one (about half the size of the first) serving as the creature's posterior and hind legs. Players could ride them as vehicles. They were used as placeholders for the then-unfinished tol'vir, so that environment artists could reference them for scale when building areas where the tol'vir lived.[1]
In the quest [30-35] Escape From the Lost City, Budd Nedreck has the adventurer and their allies grab onto each other's legs and shoulders to form tol'vir disguises, and at one point proudly declares "I'M A MANATAUR!" In-universe, this is probably a case of Budd mispronouncing the word "magnataur", but it is likely also a reference to the alpha's Three-assed Mantaurs.
