Winged Soul Eaters are soul eaters ridden by Maw guards flying around the Crucible in Oribos during the aerial battle in 
[60] A Hasty Voyage. Halfway through the battle, the player and Pelagos get knocked off their Anima Wyrm and hijack one of the Winged Soul Eaters instead (knocking its unfortunate rider off in the process) and use it to ride through the portal to Zereth Mortis before it closes. The Soul Eater dies in the process and its corpse permanently remains lying on the Path of Inception as a reminder of how players first reached the realm.
