The Winterpelt Furbolg speak a language no one seems to understand. Perhaps more will be revealed in the future.

The Winterpelt Furbolg are a very isolated furbolg tribe based out of Winterpelt Hollow in northeastern Azure Span on the Dragon Isles.

The Winterpelt were unique amongst the furbolg tribes of the Dragon Isles due to their isolationist nature.[1] After the Primalists arrived in the Azure Span, they sought to recruit the furbolg tribes of the span into their forces. While the Rustpine clan accepted this bargain and joined the Primalists, the Winterpelt refused and subsequently found themselves enslaved by Stormshackler Rynea.[2]

Under Rynea's thrall, the tribe became actively hostile and assaulted the Dragonscale Expedition outpost at Theron's Watch immediately to the southwest of their home. This would however prove to be Ryena's undoing, as the expedition would send adventurers on a fact-finding mission to figure out what caused the Winterpelt to go from isolationists to hostiles and these adventurers would ultimately kill her and liberate the tribe. In the immediate aftermath of her death, Chieftain Kranac Sagesnow gestured to adventurers to leave their cave and the tribe ceased their hostile activities.[2]

Sonova Snowden hopes to crack the code of the Winterpelt's language in order to help establish proper diplomatic relations relationships between the tribe and the Dragonscale Expedition.

Sources[]

Players start out at 100/3,000 unfriendly with the faction, and all standing is gained from completing quests. Two quest chains breadcrumb into each other, so they can be completed in either order.

Patch 10.0.2[]

At Theron's Watch, Sonova Snowden starts a quest chain for the nearby furbolg:

  1. N [65-68] Hollow Up & N [65-68] Aggressive Self-Defence
  2. N [65-68] Bear With Me
  3. N [65-68] Ice Cave Ya Got There
  4. N [65-68] Academic Acquaintances

At Camp Nowhere, Garz, a lone furbolg, runs into camp looking for help:

  1. N [65-68] Broken Traditions, Broken Bodies
  2. N [65-68] Former Furbolg Family, N [65-68] Elemental Influence, N [65-68] Rescuing Radza
  3. N [65-68] His Stone Heart
  4. N [65-68] Nowhere to Go
  5. N [65-68] What of the Winterpelt Clan?

After completing N [65-68] No Vengeance on an Empty Stomach, two quests within the subsequent quest chain provide reputation.

All of the above quests will get players to 2,050/3,000 unfriendly standing. No additional sources exist in patch 10.0.2, but more reputation is expected in future patches.

Patch 10.0.7[]

In patch 10.0.7, Sonova Snowden sends mail to players who completed the Winterpelt Hollow and Rustpine Den chains:

I cracked it!

<Name>! I've made a breakthrough with tha Winterpelt dialect. Ya helped get tha ball rollin' on this, so I felt like I ought ta keep ya apprised of the situation.

Meet me in Theron's Watch in the Azure Span and I'll tell ya all about it.

- Sonova Snowden

Inv letter 05 [Sonova's Request] is attached, which starts another quest chain:
