The WoW Variety Show is a recurring community-based event hosted by the WoW Esports team. The first episode was announced on August 1, 2022, and three episodes have been produced, with a fourth episode currently in development. The show generally includes several events featuring a combination of "Celebrity Contestants" and community contestants.
Episode Summaries[]
Episode 1, titled "Prepare for Battle" was hosted on 24 August 2022 and featured the following activities:
- Leveling – Contestants will have one hour to level a fresh character as high as possible with additional tasks and challenges along the way.
- Scavenger Hunt – Faced with riddles, puzzles, and plenty of things to find, teams of five will need to work together, making the most of their time as they scour the zones and complete as many scavenger tasks as possible.
- Footrace Through Azeroth – Contestants will fight without flight on a footrace through Azeroth.
Episode 2, titled "Take Flight" was hosted on 10-11 December 2022 and featured the following activities:[1]
- Leveling Race (December 10) – Race to see who gains the most experience on a fresh character
- Dragonriding Relay (December 10) – Dragonriding racing course
- Dragon Isles Expedition (December 10) – Find the fastest path possible through the leveling zones of the Dragon Isles
- Dragonflight Mythic+ Showcase (December 11) – Explore the Mythic+ Dragon Isles dungeons that will be available with Dragonflight Season 1
- Dragonfight (December 11) – 2v2 bracket with only evokers
Episode 3, titled "You Only Live Once" was hosted on 9 December 2023 and featured the following activities:[2]
- Race to Defeat Hogger – Race to see who can defeat Hogger first in Classic Hardcore
- Season of Discovery: Blackfathom Deeps Race – Race to see which team can defeat the level 25 raid version of Blackfathom Deeps
- Mak'gora Madness – A 28-player single-elimination dueling bracket made of the highest level characters from the Race to Defeat Hogger
Episode 4, titled "Fight Back" is scheduled to air on 31 August 2024 and will feature the following activities:[3]
- Leveling Race - Four teams of two compete to level through Khaz Algar while dealing with complications from the Wheel of Warcraft
- Scavenger Hunt - Individuals will compete to complete the most challenges
- Battleground Blitz - 16 players compete in five rounds of 8v8 Battleground Blitz matches
- Game Show - A game show "based around characters, items, abilities, experiences, and more"
- Fast-Draw Duel - A pre-recorded draw and guessing game with words based around terms and names from World of Warcraft
