WowEdit (short for World of Warcraft Editor) is a proprietary world editor software of Blizzard Entertainment. It is used to create the environments for World of Warcraft, by texturing the ground, placing assets and doodads, positioning creatures and NPCs, and so on.


  • A designer once wanted this tool to do "what he was thinking", so David Ray added a "brain" button to the interface. When clicked, a "Now scanning brain" progress bar would pop up. Once the progress bar finished, it would pop up a fake GP fault screen with the error "No memory found".[1]
