The Xy'mox's Charity Cache was a charity esports tournament that was introduced on 31 August 2022 and took place on 10-11 September the same year.[1]
The event placed two guilds (Echo and Team Liquid) in a race to defeat select bosses from Castle Nathria and Sepulcher of the First Ones as quickly as possible to earn their respective charities a share of the $100,000 (USD) donation pool. However, there are a few twists and turns that Xy'mox prepared:
- Instead of the usual Fated Power rotation, all bosses will have at least two Fated Powers activated.
- Each raid will have two checkpoints which will grant an amount to donate to their charity, with a higher amount going to the guild that reaches the checkpoint first.
- To up the fun, the guild that reaches a checkpoint first will receive a Fated Curse modifier that will make one of the next encounters even more chaotic.
The charities supported were Direct Relief (Echo) and AbleGamers (Team Liquid).
As a celebration for the event, started after the weekly reset on September 17, raid groups were able to opt-in for an extra Fated Power for each boss from the Fated Consoles.[2]
