Yenniku is Vol'jin's youngest son. As is a custom with jungle trolls, he was given to the Gurubashi tribe of Zul'Gurub. However, he was lost to the Darkspear tribe after they left with Thrall.[2] He was later captured by Zanzil the Outcast, who had taken control of his body and mind[3] and apparently sent him to the Skullsplitter tribe to make them join Zanzil in an army that would conquer Stranglethorn.[4]
After being attacked by Ana'thek the Cruel, the adventurers of the Horde defeated the Skullsplitter Chief and bested Yenniku, retrieving Vol'jin son's soul using a 
[Soul Gem], which they brought to Nimboya, a Darkspear troll sent from Orgrimmar to search for Yenniku.

Trivia[]
- Nimboya once referred to Yenniku as his own son in the quest [10-30] Saving Yenniku, saying "...I at least know that my son's soul is free." His words were changed at some unknown point after the Cataclysm quest overhaul to "...I at least know that the soul of my chief's son is free."[5]

Vol'jin once implied to Tyrathan Khort that he had a significant other.[6] It would stand to reason that she is Yenniku's mother.
