Zanazal is a former ruler of the Zandalari Empire and member of the Council of Tribes. His remains are buried within the Halls of Ash in Kings' Rest, in Atal'Dazar. During the fight, he briefly regains a physical form before turning into ash again.
Biography[]
Zanazal lived during the time when the Zandalari Empire was ruled by no single emperor. He was the head of his family at the time and after a period of civil war, he and the heads of two other families managed to form an uneasy coalition that for a time managed to rule the empire together. While they often disagreed with one another, they achieved peace in Zandalar, however briefly.[1]

Zanazal the Wise, born to rule, beset by enemies, and resilient enough to endure a civil war that few others did. Though he never saw the others as his equal, he nevertheless saw the value in keeping his enemies close.
