Zulsan is a member of the Goldtusk Gang in Vol'dun. According to Rhan'ka, he and Zulsan are best friends, even if Zulsan doesn't want to be near Rhan'ka most of the time.[1]

Like most of the other Goldtusks, Zulsan initially appears to just be an inanimate skull that Rhan'ka talks to. When adventurers arrive at the Goldtusk Inn, Zulsan's skull has been up in Dead Man's Pass for days, and so Rhan'ka asks the heroes to find him and convince him to come back to the inn so he can restock the breakfast buffet. The adventurers soon find the skull inside a scorpid den, but meanwhile, Sandfury trolls attack the Goldtusk Inn and kidnap the other skulls.[1] Rhan'ka asks the champions to rescue the other gang members, while he and Zulsan (more specifically, Rhan'ka wearing Zulsan's cranium as a hat) return to the inn to start cleaning up the place.[2]

Later, after adventurers rescue the other Goldtusks and are initiated into the gang, they gain the ability to see the ghosts of the gang members.[3] Zulsan's ghost is seen floating above a Cooking Cauldron in a corner of the inn, working on making an all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet. He asks the heroes to gather fruit from the Whistlebloom Oasis outside in order to better balance out the menu.[4]
